Friday, November 1st, 1968 - George Harrison becomes the first Beatle to put out a solo album with the release of "Wonderwall", an instrumental album recorded in India as the soundtrack for a movie by the same title.
Saturday, November 2nd, 1968 - United Artists releases the film "Paper Tiger" starring Alan Alda, and based on the book by George Plimpton about the author's experience trying out for the Detroit Lions.
Sunday, November 3rd, 1968 - A severe storm burst over northern Italy results in floods and landslides taking the lives of over 100 people.
Monday, November 4th, 1968 - Army troops and Bedouin fighters loyal to Jordan's King Hussein crush an uprising by rebellious Palestine Camandos led by Yassir Arafat.
Tuesday, November 5th, 1968 - In one of the closest presidential elections of the 20th century, Republican Richard M. Nixon defeats Democrat Hubert H. Humphrey to become the 37th president of the United States. Of the more than 70 million votes cast, Nixon wins by a mere 338,104 votes.
Wednesday, November 6th, 1968 - A Vatican publication says that while Jacqueline Kennedy renounced her faith when she married Aristotle Onasis on October 20th, she will not be excommunicated from the Roman Catholic Church.
Thursday, November 7th, 1968 - A week of anti-government student rioting begins in Pakistan.
